Tee-Ball (Age 4-6)

In Tee-Ball, boys and girls play together and the emphasis is on having fun, learning the rules and gaining a basic mastery of skills such as throwing, catching, swinging a bat and running.  Every child is given equal playing time and times at bat.  Coaches and parent helpers stand on the field and help direct players.

Instructional League (Age 6-8)

After one or two years in Tee-Ball, boys and girls still play together in the Instructional League.  At this level, coaches will pitch to the players.  Emphasis remains on having fun, learning the rules and improving skills.

Minor League Baseball (Age 8-11)
Minor League Softball (Age 7-11)

Players that demonstrate an understanding of the rules and are able to participate safely in real baseball or softball games will be advanced to the Minor League.  In Minors, boys and girls split off into baseball and softball respectively.  The games are played by the rules with players doing the pitching and catching.  At this level, competitive aspects of the game will be added such as keeping score, base stealing and playing against out-of-town teams.  While most players are at least 8 years old before entering Minors, some advanced 7-year olds may be added to these teams to fill rosters.

Major League Baseball (Age 9-12)
Major League Softball (Age 9-12)

Major League is designed for our most advanced 9-12 year olds and players are drafted after being evaluated in an assessment.  Once players are drafted into Majors they remain on the same team until the turn 13.  In Majors all official Little League rules apply.  The game is still designed to be fun and educational with the emphasis being on playing competitively while maintaining high expectations of sportsmanship and fair play.

Junior League Baseball (Age 13-14)

Junior League begins after the completion of the Middle School season.  Tryouts are in early June and the season begins once the team has been selected.  Depending upon numbers, Hermon Little League may combine with other leagues to form one or two teams.  The Junior teams plays games throughout June and July.  If Hermon Little League has two Junior teams, an All-Star team will be chosen to compete in the District 3 tournament that begins in mid-July.

Senior League Baseball (Age 15-16)

Senior League begins after the completion of the Middle and High School seasons.  Tryouts are in early June and the season begins once the team has been selected.  Depending upon numbers, Hermon Little League may combine with other leagues to form one team.  The Senior team plays games through June and July and then participates in the District 3 tournament.
